The Virginia Association of School Superintendents (VASS) is pleased to announce that Dr. Ken Nicely, Superintendent of Roanoke County Public Schools, has been selected as the 2025 Region VI Superintendent of the Year. Region VI includes 14 school divisions in western and southside Virginia.

Kindergarten Registration Kickoff Event: Feb. 10 - 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.
All children who will be five years old on or before September 30, 2025 are eligible for kindergarten.
Roanoke County Public Schools will accept registration for children who will attend kindergarten for the 2025-2026 school year.
Those children presently enrolled in private kindergarten who will attend first grade in public schools during the 2025-2026 school year also may register beginning Feb. 10.
Parents should register their children at the elementary school in their home area. This is by appointment ONLY. Parents may schedule an appointment to register their children on any regular school day after Feb. 10.
